TEI Built Shock Subs for Rotary Drills
Shock subs are used to prolong the life of rotary heads. Torsional and impact forces from down-hole hammers take their toll on any rotary head after time. By using a shock sub these forces are isolated from the drill head and absorbed in this sub. The shock subs are threaded male to female and fit directly beneath the rotary head. TEI shock subs are unique in that there is no metal-to-metal contact between the two threaded ends. The TEI subs are packed in grease and do not use oil.
TEI builds three different sizes of shock subs, designed to accommodate different down-hole hammer sizes.
